About me
Edgar Castillo is a recently retired law enforcement officer for a large Kansas City metropolitan agency. I navigated a successful career assigned to various bureaus, division, units, and federal task forces. I also served in the United States Marine Corps for over a decade. Born in Guatemala, hunting was a new concept when we came to the U.S. Our neighbor Tom, introduced my father and I to waterfowl and eventually upland hunting. An ember had been lit.
My passion lies in the uplands as I self-document my travels across public lands throughout Kansas or wherever the dirt road takes me...to hunt open fields, walk treelines, & bust through plum thickets in search of wild birds in wild places. This fervid emotion for the uplands has since blossomed into a SIGNIFICANT social media presence. It has allowed me to share my experiences and connect with other bird hunters through writing.
As I embark and embrace this new path as an outdoor writer, I want to share my experiences, knowledge, stories, and adventures afield. My goal is to educate, inform, entertain, and inspire.
