In this workshop, we'll investigate the ways that hunting, fishing, and other outdoors stories can transcend their subjects and investigate more universal concerns. We’ll begin by surveying the ways that outdoor storytellers use recreational pursuits to engage obliquely or directly with broader environmental and/or emotional subject matter. How do these types of stories function? Why are they compelling? If there's time, we will workshop attendees’ projects to draw out potential avenues in their pitches/drafts for more profound meaning-making.
